Mobile Changing Systems is the only manufacturer of Marveloo, Australia’s first and only Changing Places Mobile Accessible Restroom approved by the Changing Places organisation, an award-winning design that caters for people with severe disability and their carers. Marveloo is compliant with the Australian Standard for access and mobility, and is fully compliant with a range of legislation, including the Disability And Discrimination Act 1992.

Marveloo is already established within the community for its great service, ease of use and convenience for those in need, and its bright distinctive vinyl wrap design is readily recognised from a distance.

Marveloo includes Height Adjustable Adult Change Table, Overhead Ceiling Hoist, a Fully Accessible Toilet, Accessible Hand Basin and Mirror, Privacy Curtain, Laundry Trough Basin, 50 Ltr Hot Water Unit, Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner, 1,000 Ltr Self-Contained Effluent Tank, Two-Piece Access Ramp, Ramp Storage Cassette, Electronic Door Operation with Dormakaba Privacy Door System, Pull-Out External Sun Shade, Storage Room, Extraction Fans and External Security Doors MLAK keyed, all designed to comply to AS 1428.1, and setup up for ease of use by both patrons and operators.

Marveloo’s spacious area allows for multiple people to attend at once, a great benefit for a single carer looking after several patrons. Marveloo is designed for use by large community groups and events.

Marveloo has multiple hand towel dispensers, lockable cupboards for stock items, a large lockable storage area to the rear, excellent circulation space for electric wheelchairs, and spare drop-down seating conveniently located in two places. The hot water is tempered by a Thermostatic Mixing Valve, regulating the temperature to a safe 45 degrees C. Easy to clean, sanitise and maintain, with non-slip floors, stainless steel fittings and covers.  

Setting up Marveloo is relatively effortless once delivered and positioned in your events area. Removing the two-piece ramp from the ramp storage under the main door in its cassette and collecting the two handrails and short ramp extension from storage, is a simple assembly process. Connecting two 240V x 15 amp caravan-type leads from a power source and connecting the water, completes Marveloo’s setup. 

Marveloo is designed to be transported by Tilt Tray truck or can be lifted into place by a suitable Crane Truck using the Retractable Lifting Arms. Marveloo has been designed and built for ease of use for event operators and the public.

Marveloo is designed as a ‘go anywhere’ facility. Connection to power and a basic water supply is all that is required to operate this self-contained unit. Mains electrical power or generated power are all suitable, water supply can simply be a standard garden hose connection (Note: Marveloo is not suitable for potable water consumption) with a pressure limiting valve ensuring all systems inside are not over pressurised by various water supplies.

Marveloo is sturdily constructed from a galvanised steel chassis with 50mm EPS Wall Panels that offer great rigidity and insulation properties. Engineered with certification for the hoist and adult height adjustable change table, you are confident this Portable Changing Places Unit is built to last. Plumbing and Electrical Certification complete the package, and Mobile Changing Systems guarantee our build quality.

The Marveloo concept was developed by Maroondah City Council’s Team Leader Parks, Sportsfield Maintenance & Projects, Don Di Giandomenico. Don was inspired by his wife Angela and daughter Jessica, who has cerebral palsy, to undertake the extensive work to design and develop the project. Marveloo’s design means that carers will have peace of mind that facilities will be available to cater for their loved ones’ needs in a safe, comfortable and dignified manner (Excerpt courtesy of Maroondah City Council) Maroondah City Council originally owned the registered trademark design for Marveloo, this is now controlled by the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria.

In 2015 having experience in engineering and engaging in work for council on several projects, Paul was approached by council to fabricate a Marveloo unit. This led to an opportunity to manufacture more Marveloo units, as the need for units in the community grew. 

Paul’s thorough and expert approach to ensure all subsequent builds would have the rigorous quality Paul demands of all his work and expertise in the engineering field, has ensured the structural integrity of the Marveloo build is sound and robust and designed for years of service. Quality of finish to the interior by Paul’s team has finalised Marveloo to the great easy-to-maintain Portable Changing Restroom that sets the standard for all.
